Since that time it has become global in its reach and interests, but retains its focus on exchanging knowledge about the history of archaeology. I am an expert in museum documentation, currently employed as Documentation Manager at the Horniman Museum and Gardens. I trained as an art historian, specialising in renaissance Italy, and try to maintain an active interest in the field. This site gives an overview of my experience. And my publications, conference papers, and so on. It also contains various posts. The picture is a portrait of me.

In the aftermath of the First World War, the people of Britain needed a focus for their grief, loss and pride. War memorials were erected across the UK in the greatest wave of remembrance this nation has ever seen. They form an important part of our rich cultural heritage and connect us with the global conflict that shaped the world we live in today. They provide insight into the changing face of commemoration as well as artistic, social, local, military and international history.
